Reflective Essay - "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring" movie

In the film, I first thought this movie was about the four seasons and taking pictures of the beauty of each seasons. But when we saw this film, it was a whole new different story. It was about a monk and his young student who live in a house on water. We only saw the first spring part but it still was dramatic.

In the film, I think the teacher is trying to teach his young student not to harm any living creature. The young student was tormenting many animals such as fish, frog, and a snake by tying them up to a rock. But the teacher saw him doing this horrible thing and he tied the young boy to a rock, too. Then the master told him to find the three animals and untie their rock. Unfortunately, only the frog was alive when he looked for them. And I think that the boy learned his lesson. I had that kind of experience before, too. When I was little I found some ice cream in the fridge. So I ate it without permission because it was my favorite flavor. And my mom spotted me. So at that dinner time, dessert was chocolate cake with frosting! But when I wanted a piece, my mom said “You ate the ice cream, no cake for you.” At first I was very mad. Then I learned my lesson. So after my little brother went to sleep, my mom let me have some cake. I think this film and my mom is telling the same thing: learn your lesson.
I think this monk did a good job to tell the young boy to tell what he did wrong because if you only scold kids and don’t tell what they did wrong, they might do it again. So I hope parents will let kids know what they did wrong by that way, not just scolding and hitting, but letting their trick backfire. But don’t tie me up mom~~ㅠㅠ
